New Global scenarios - Ukraine stresstest

2021, ScMI worked with a distinguished group of international experts to develop eight long-term scenarios on the future of globalization and the global world order. These so-called "New Global Scenarios" extend to the year 2035 and beyond. They were subsequently evaluated by experts from 65 countries and are available to everyone as an open-source publication.

 

After the assessment was completed in mid-2022, the Russo-Ukrainian war began. Many people have since asked what this means for the New Global scenarios. Basically, the long-term New Global scenarios provide a perspective that extends beyond the current war. Nevertheless, there are correlations. How likely a particular scenario is to occur may well depend on the course of the war in Ukraine.

 

Therefore, we want to use a "Ukraine stresstest" to work out (1) what short-term developments are expected for the coming year, (2) what impact this has on the long-term New Global scenarios, and (3) what specific consequences are associated with the Russo-Ukrainian war.
